Welshdale Consultancy

Commercial consultancy · Contracts · International

We sit on your side of the table.

Welshdale Consultancy advises businesses on the commercial decisions that carry real exposure: what to agree, who to agree it with, and how to hold the position afterwards.

01 · Consultancy

Business consultancy

We are brought in where a commercial decision is bigger than the people making it are comfortable carrying alone. A new market, an unfamiliar counterparty, a contract worth more than the last three combined.

The work is practical rather than theoretical. We look at what is actually being proposed, what it will require to deliver, and where the exposure sits, and we give you our view in writing.

Commercial judgement

Advice built around the decision in front of you.

Practical assessment of structure, counterparty, delivery and risk before commitments become difficult to unwind.

02 · Negotiation

Contract negotiation

Negotiation is where consultancy becomes concrete. We prepare the position, identify what can be conceded and what cannot, and work alongside you at the table or behind it.

The terms that decide an outcome years later are rarely the price. They are precedence, governing law, notice, variation and the dispute clause, and they are settled cheaply at signature or expensively afterwards.

03 · Services

Three areas of focused commercial support.

Welshdale works where commercial, contractual and cross-border issues overlap. Each instruction is handled directly and scoped around a defined business problem.

04 · Sectors & markets

Technical industries. International relationships.

Our work is concentrated in sectors where contracts are long, technical and made up of several documents at once, and in markets where local knowledge and counterparty judgement matter.

05 · Practice

A small, senior practice.

Instructions are handled by the principal rather than passed down. That means clients speak directly to the person assessing the documents, preparing the position and standing behind the advice.

We take on work only where we can give it proper attention, and we say plainly when a proposed course should not proceed.
